Eyewear brand focus: William Morris London

William Morris was created seventeen years ago by Robert Morris with the aim to offer designer style spectacles to every audience with a very English brand. We at Eyecare love the choice of colours and styles across the ranges that are constantly evolving.

The tagline at William Morris is ‘designed in London and very proudly British’. They use the latest technology combined with effortless style and vibrant colours. London fashion is always at the cutting edge of fashion and style and the range of spectacles reflect this. We find that there is something for everyone regardless of age, taste and vision needs. People fall in love with the quirky leopard print ‘cats eye’ frames whilst others prefer a keyhole bridge tortoiseshell ‘geek chic’ look.

Our own Dispensing Optician Becky currently wears a William Morris frame and has just ordered a new one from the new retro range they are showcasing.  She tells us


people always think that because I work with specs I find it easy to choose new frames, however it is the absolute opposite, I’m very fussy about choosing the right frame but I always get excited when the William Morris rep comes in as I know I will soon be looking at my next pair of specs! The only problem this time was that I had to order 2!”

The original designs are constantly evolving and it is easy to see the pride and hard work that goes into each collection. The philosophy and brand attributes of William Morris are as strong as they were when it was launched seventeen years ago. They are still a family run business that listens, adapts and sets standards. They are often nominated for awards in the optical world and in 2013 they won the award for Optical Supplier of the year. In the same year they were also nominated for Frame of the year with a classic tortoiseshell acetate frame and they are nominated in both categories again this year!

  • Charles Stone New York

Sub brand Charles Stone is a collection of thin and fine, lightweight frames, with subtle retro elements. The designs capture the classic qualities that are synonymous with the New York reputation making this an idea collection to have alongside the London Brand.


Frames start in the Charles Stone collection from £69 going up to around £129 in the London collection. We always have a display of William Morris frames in the practice – with free onsite parking,  you are welcome to pop in during opening hours to see what’s on offer.
